Meet Our Team

Angela Mays is Nextdoor Drug’s lead pharmacy technician. She has been in the profession of pharmacy since 2006 working in various retail settings. Her experience in pharmacy makes Angela an integral member of Nextdoor Drug’s team, and she looks forward to serving patients at our independent retail pharmacy.

Clint Lawson, Nextdoor Drug’s pharmacist-in-charge, is a 2008 graduate from the Appalachia College of Pharmacy in Oakwood, VA. He has worked in retail pharmacy since 2006 and for the six years prior as an elementary school teach in Albemarle and Wise counties. That combination of experience blends perfectly with retail pharmacy- a setting where healthcare and education are combined to create a unique pharmacy experience for the patients at Nextdoor Drug.

Nicole Lawson received her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2008. Since then she has had extensive experience as a retail, independent and hospital pharmacist. She currently works as a Behavioral Health Clinical Pharmacist and also as a Pharmacist at our own Next Door Drug. She has experience in BHRT (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy) and goes above and beyond to help ensure proper patient care. What does Nicole think makes Next Door Drug different than other retail pharmacies? “It’s the people! We love our patients and genuinely care about their health – mind, body and soul. Together, we have a ton of experience. We strive to offer new programs for our patients based on the need of the community”.

Jackie Hackney is one of 3 pharmacists staffed by Nextdoor Drug. Jackie has practiced as a Clinical Pharmacist since graduating with her PharmD in 2008. Prior to the profession of pharmacy, she taught science in the RCPS system for 11 years and has taught advanced pharmacy classes as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy. She has experience in hospital, retail, geriatric and ambulatory care pharmacy. Jackie specializes in advanced hormone replacement therapy for men and women. She enjoys collaborating with health care providers and patients to achieve optimal outcomes. Appointments may be made for a one-on-one extensive hormone consultation by calling the pharmacy. Jackie is a well-rounded pharmacist with the ability and knowledge to provide superior patient care due to her unique background and career experiences.

Earlene has a rich history in healthcare and in serving her community in various capacities. Spending many years as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, she occupied several positions in the medical community such as Director of Cardiopulmonary Services for regional hospitals and Clinical Director of Home Medical Services. Through the University of Virginia, she also achieved Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care.

Additionally, Earlene holds a Doctor of Christian Ministry Degree and is an ordained minister, serving in a wide range of clergy roles, including Christian Education at the collegiate level, preparing individuals for ministry.

After leaving the medical field for number of years, Earlene has joined our team as our Professional Health Coach, working one-on-one with individuals to assist them in achieving a healthy body weight and improve their overall health. Her considerable experience in business administration and finance also makes her a valuable asset to Nextdoor Drug. Earlene’s unique background adds strength to our team.
